Another karst sinkhole appeared this early December on the outskirts of the city of Belsh, bringing back the earlier concern in the Dumre area, known for such natural formations that have created as many as 84 lakes over the years.
The last pit was dug in the 'Hysa' neighborhood, just 1 kilometer from the city center in a residential area with dozens of houses.
Residents report that it is widening and deepening every day, creating panic and uncertainty about the safety of homes and the movement of children.
According to information from the field, the karst phenomenon has significantly changed the surface of the earth, causing dozens of residents to feel endangered and demand immediate response from the authorities.
Meanwhile, local authorities have warned residents not to approach the sinkhole, especially children who are at greater risk due to their ignorance of the consequences of this phenomenon.
It has also been confirmed that the perimeter fencing will begin in the coming hours, while the second phase will be filling the pit with inert materials to avoid any possible incidents.
Karst phenomena in Dumre continue to be a permanent challenge, but their occurrence in inhabited areas increases the urgency for preventive measures and in-depth geological studies.
