New details have been revealed about the murder of Albanian Sadjide Muslija, 49, on December 3 in Ancona, Italy, by her husband, Nazif Muslija, who is on the run.

According to Italian media, Sadjide Muslija was found murdered in her bed with serious signs of violence. She had not shown up for work and the owner notified the authorities, who when they went to the apartment, found her body in bed, her face mutilated from the blows.

According to the reconstruction of the event, her husband, Nazif Muslija, left in a "Smart" type vehicle, while his phone turned off and was unreachable.

Investigations revealed that the couple had a history of domestic violence. Nazif Muslija had previously been arrested for violence against his wife, even threatening her with an axe.

In July, he accepted a sentence of one year and ten months, conditional on attending a rehabilitation program for violent men. His lawyer said the program had not yet begun due to a lack of places, and Muslija had only received a few initial sessions with a psychologist.

It is also learned that the couple has a 27-year-old son living in Switzerland, who learned of his mother's murder from his father's lawyer.  "I was expecting it," the 27-year-old said after learning the news.

Experts from the Ancona Scientific Investigation Unit have returned to the apartment to find microscopic traces and the hard tool that may have been used in the crime. Several objects have been seized as possible evidence, while an autopsy date has not yet been set.

The Carabinieri continue the intensive search to find Nazif Muslija, who so far appears to be a fugitive.
