The EU welcomes the election of the new head of SPAK, Gonzato: I congratulate Klodian Braho and we look forward to his continued cooperation

Immediately after the election of the new head of SPAK, EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato took the floor to congratulate Klodian Braho, who will head the Special Prosecution Office for the next three years. 

"This is because SPAK plays an essential role in the fight against organized crime and corruption.

And you know that this is one of the key requirements for Albania's membership in the EU.

We said yesterday that what we are looking for is a head of this institution who will continue his work and we said that what we are looking for is a candidate who has very high levels of independence, integrity, resistance at work, that is, standards that have to do with Albania's approximation to the European Union.

"I want to congratulate Mr. Braho and express that we look forward to cooperating with him in the months and years to come," said Gonzato.
