Six Albanian diaspora professors among 2% of the world's best scientists, but represent other countries

In September, Stanford University in California published the list of 2% of the most cited scientists in various disciplines, and the University of Pristina proudly announced that two of its own professors were included in the list of the best in the world. Also, 5 professors were from the University of Montenegro, 4 from the University of Skopje and 5 from the University of Sarajevo.
But it turns out that there are also 6 Albanian diaspora academics on the Stanford University list.
" 6 of the diaspora academics participating in the READ Program have been ranked in the top 2% of scientists in the world by Stanford University!" - announces the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF).
" We are proud of the achievements on a global scale, grateful that academics have engaged with the READ program to contribute to Albania ."
Arben Merkoçi is currently a professor at ICREA and director of the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group at the Institut Català de Nanociencia i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST).
Valentina Ndou, Senior Researcher and Professor in the Department of Management Engineering at the University of Salento, Italy.
Dorina Pojani, Associate Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Queensland, Australia
Nazim Gruda, Professor Doctor at the University of Bonn, Germany.
Qendrim Zeneli, professor at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria.
Fatos Xhafa, professor of the University of Catalonia (University of Catalonia).
This ranking is considered the most prestigious in the world and the ranking of scientists is made from the bibliometric data of Scopus.
