The protest has now entered its second week and has passed its first test. In addition to its massiveness, civic spirit and enthusiasm, it has also shown the resilience and determination of citizens who no longer accept the Rama-Berisha system.
But as has happened on other occasions, such as with the student protest, hyenas are now surrounding her to suffocate her and misdirect her.
First, Rama is trying to attack and lynch him, after he saw that he couldn't succeed with flattery. He was now forced to show his true face, beyond the mask of the scoundrel who has taken everything with a smile. In fact, he can't hide that he is shocked by the delegitimization that the citizens of Tirana have done to him.
On the other hand, Berisha, after coming out against the protest and in favor of Rama's project, after letting his phalanxes attack the protesters, quickly realized that this was suicide and is now shamelessly trying to pretend that he is on their side. In addition, he has ordered his people to take to the streets in a failed attempt to capture, or even misdirect, him.
But these are not enough. The hawks of both parties in the television studios have begun to express their first dissatisfactions by demotivating the public and misleading the protesters with irrelevant claims and idiotic demands with chickpeas on a skewer. Someone wants the protest to be radicalized, someone else wants it to behave like a structured and disciplined political formation, someone else complains because it has no representation, does not produce political thought, does not issue platforms or manifestos to communicate complicated political positions, and so on.
Protest is not a political party. It is a direct expression of the people's indignation against the existing political class and you cannot ask it for more than what it is doing. It is a form of direct expression of the will of society, which through revolt conveys dissatisfaction with those who lead. You cannot ask it for formalized actions and commitments that do not belong to it. For this reason, it should only be supported and it is pointless to criticize it.
The people who come to that protest are different. Some are left-wing, some right-wing, some without sides at all. They are gathered and united by one thing, the revolt against those who have been stealing from us for 35 years. This is where its strength, power, beauty and legitimacy lie. Anyone who demands that it produce what it cannot do does nothing but push it down the wrong path, to the point of failure. Such senseless demands only aim to divide it, weaken it and reduce it in numbers, so that it goes towards extinction.
The protest is truly dangerous today for the existing establishment. It has the power to burst the dam of this government only because of a great strength that it already has: stability. It is already entering the resistance phase, which is the most important test to lead it to victory. The battle between the protesters and the government now is who resists the longest. The one who gets tired first loses.
If the protest persists until the end, there is no government that can resist it because no government can face such a big problem in a long time frame. Everything seems to be going well. The miracle has happened and it only needs to be defended to continue persistently until the end.
