SPAK Head Klodian Braho has reacted to SPAK's 2025 annual report, which according to him is an indicator that the institution has made progress in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
Regarding the progress of SPAK's work during 2025, Braho thanked the prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office and the investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation, for the work carried out in cooperation.
While he announced that intensive work is continuing on the investigations and criminal prosecution of all public officials who are found to be accomplices to crime by abusing their office. Braho emphasized here that no one will be above the law and all people are equal before it.
"We are working intensively to investigate and prosecute all those officials who have abused their office. A key role in SPAK's achievements has also been played by strengthening cooperation with international partners to investigate every person who has committed a criminal offense, showing that no one is above the law and that everyone is equal before it, " said Braho.
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime published yesterday the Annual Report for 2025, which presents the main developments and results in the fight against organized crime and corruption.
SPAK has continued its investigation of high-level officials with determination, registering 6 new proceedings and 16 people under investigation. Out of 30 officials and former high-ranking officials under investigation, 18 people have been sent to court with a request for trial, while 10 of them have been sentenced with a final decision.
According to the report, during 2025 the volume of criminal investigations has increased compared to 2024. SPAK announced that a total of 871 criminal proceedings were conducted, of which 294 new cases and 577 carried over from 2024.
While the value of assets seized and confiscated during 2025 reaches 45.4 million euros.
Klodian Braho's speech: The data from the 2025 Annual Report show that SPAK has made progress in the fight against organized crime and corruption, and for this I appreciate the work of the prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office and the investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation. However, these are challenges that require continuous efforts.
