Priscilla Presley allegedly hid $25 million worth of jewelry to avoid taxes - World Today News

New details have been released in the United States regarding the lawsuit against Priscilla Presley, who is facing serious charges of concealing valuable jewelry and rare Elvis Presley memorabilia. The 80-year-old former actress is also accused of attempting to take control of the Presley family estate, as well as prematurely removing her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, from life support.
Priscilla was married to Elvis Presley for six years, from 1967 to 1973. Their relationship has been frequently rumored, as they met when she was just 14 years old, while Elvis was 24. However, Priscilla has always maintained that they did not have an intimate relationship until they were 21 years old.
The lawsuit was filed by her former business partners, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, who are seeking at least $50 million in damages in a Los Angeles Superior Court filing. They claim that Priscilla sought to take control of her daughter Lisa Marie's foundation and the famed Graceland estate, Elvis' iconic legacy.
According to the lawsuit, Priscilla breached contracts and committed fraud, being fully aware that Lisa Marie was the sole heir to Elvis' estate - and that she attempted to exclude the daughter from this role.
One of the most serious allegations relates to the tragic moment in January 2023, when Lisa Marie suffered a cardiac arrest at her California home. New documents suggest that Priscilla requested that her daughter's life support be turned off just hours after she was admitted to the hospital, something that has sparked strong public reactions.
The lawsuit also alleges that Priscilla hid a jewelry collection worth more than $25 million (€21.6 million) from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). According to People magazine, on forms filed on May 4, 2023, she only declared $6,000 (€5,100) in jewelry - a figure far lower than its true value, in order to avoid paying taxes.
Kruse and Fialko claim that at Priscilla's own request they had begun negotiating a multimillion-dollar deal, from which she would personally benefit, as well as several other members of the Presley family.
The lavish jewelry collection is believed to have been stored in a secret location managed by Angie Marchese, Graceland's head of archives. Former business partners claim that Priscilla fired them immediately after learning they intended to inform tax authorities of the real value of the jewelry.
On the other hand, Priscilla Presley's lawyer, Marty Singer, has categorically denied all the allegations, calling them "absurd and completely unfounded."
“These allegations are a sad and malicious attempt to tarnish the reputation of an 80-year-old woman,” he said. Singer also added that the lawsuit is a deliberate manipulation that is unrelated to the ongoing legal proceedings against Kruse and Fialko, who he said “are themselves responsible for embezzlement and abuse of an elderly person.”
