Xhuljeta Kërtusha exposes the DP MPs: We are in the square because they

Xhulieta Kërtusha, who was Minister of Labor and Social Welfare in the 2017 caretaker government, has reacted to the 17-day-old citizen protest demanding the overthrow of the corrupt political caste represented by Rama and Berisha.

Through a status on social media, the former candidate for MP of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition accused some of the Democratic Party MPs of leaving the country without real opposition for personal interests.

According to her, one of the main reasons why citizens have gathered in the square is disappointment with those politicians who, according to her, have abandoned opposition causes in exchange for personal benefits.

"The reason we are in the square is those DP deputies who left this country without opposition for a seat/building permit or a tender! They left this country without an alternative in the hands of the ruling party which assumed an arrogance because there was no competition, no fear ," she writes.

She called for such political figures not to be involved in the protest, arguing that they do not represent the interests of citizens. According to Kërtusha, while citizens are sitting in the square, MPs are enjoying weekends in coastal areas.

"Remove them from the square because your child does not have heating at school, their children go to private schools abroad and within the country. When you go to the hospital and you can't even find serum, they are treated outside. Your one-year salary is a purse for them, your 10-year salary is a car for them. When you stay in the square all week, they have Palase, Gjiri i Lalezit, etc., villas taken in exchange for sewing your mouth. They are not there for help or change, they are only there to make you dirty and to lose the value of this magnificent protest ," says Kërtusha's reaction.
