The largest German magazine: Flamur Noka again ignites a fire in the parliament because of the investigations against Berisha

The biggest German magazine, Spiegel, writes that this is the third time that the Albanian politician, Flamur Noka, has set fire to the parliament. According to the magazine, this protest is due to the investigations being carried out against Sali Berisha. Below is the full text:
No, this is not a football stadium. On the contrary, it is the parliament of Albania, a country that aspires to become part of the European Union.
On Monday, the opposition politician, Flamur Noka, lit smoke bombs, interrupting the plenary session. Noka accuses the socialist government of Edi Rama of trying to silence the opposition.
But behind this lies a clash in connection with a criminal procedure.
At the end of October, charges were brought against Sali Berisha, who, like Noka, belongs to the Democratic Party. During his time as prime minister, Berisha is said to have abused his power for private purposes regarding a land deal. Berisha, for his part, accuses the current prime minister, Rama, of orchestrating the prosecution - and has called for a protest.
Therefore, Noka's fiery action on Monday is not as unusual as it seems at first.
Such scenes have happened repeatedly in recent weeks, even on November 20, when the parliament had to vote on the 2024 budget. Here too, Flamur Noka was right at the forefront.
Now, two weeks later, he seems unfazed by the sparks. After the smoke, Noka also set fire to the papers.
Efforts to become part of the EU have long been ongoing in Albania: in 2009, the country applied for membership. Official negotiations with Brussels have also started since last year. / Spiegel
