Tomorrow is the deadline for candidacies for the leadership of the Democratic Party, the instructions are revealed: Salianji is out of the race, those convicted by a final decision are not allowed to run

A previously secret instruction from the Democratic Party regarding the May 23rd race for the new mayor gives any rival of Sali Berisha until Thursday the 30th at 12:00 to submit their candidacy documents against him.

Berisha has confirmed his candidacy and as he has flown to Zagreb for a summit, he has prepared the ground to leave out the most talked-about name to be his rival: Ervin Salianjin.

The DP's guidelines define the criteria that a candidate for the leadership of the DP must meet, where in addition to political contribution, the fact that the candidacy of persons who have a final decision on their shoulders, which in fact Ervin Salianji also has, is also notable.

What was once called political punishment by the Democratic leadership is now the strongest card being used against Salijanj to prevent him from running.

The criteria for candidates for DPA Chairman are:

-The criteria for candidates for President of the Democratic Party are: -Member of the Democratic Party, a figure with a very high public and political profile, with at least 10 years of political and electoral engagement in the Democratic Party;
-To have leadership experience at the national/regional level in the political battles of the Democratic Party, for civic and political causes,
-To meet the eligibility criteria according to Law No. 138/2015 "On guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed or exercise public functions".
Earlier, the DP had warned against allowing Salijanj to run, saying that as a self-excluded person, he is no longer a party member, and for this reason he cannot be a contender for the number 1 opposition.

But, despite the almost zero chances of legitimizing the race, it is learned that Salianji will submit his candidacy documents to the DP headquarters tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the DP has also brought closer the date of the organization of the National Assembly. Just 1 week after the presidential elections, the Assembly will elect the new national council and approve changes to the DP statute.
