The High Court has reviewed Erion Veliaj's appeal for changing the security measure of "prison arrest".
The court decided to reject the appeal filed by Erion Veliaj.
In the documents he has submitted, he requests a relaxation of the security measure, saying that there is no possibility of him destroying the evidence, since SPAK has closed the investigations and submitted the file to the court. The former mayor of Tirana requests a change of measure, but SPAK claims that he should be kept in prison, since the witnesses have not yet all confessed before the black squads.
We recall that Veliaj was dismissed from his position as mayor, while the President paved the way for new elections to be held on November 9, even though he has challenged his dismissal in the Constitutional Court.
