GJKKO does not allow live broadcast of the trial, Meta: The government is

The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, is seeking a review of his request to broadcast the court session live, although the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) has not accepted it.

In the courtroom, Meta accused the government of trying to distort the facts, and that the people should see the truth.

"I ask that they reconsider the issue of live broadcasting. We have our own point of view when it comes to this issue. I would ask you to also look at the OSCE ODIHR report, which states that 90% of the media is controlled by the government. I really don't see any reason why this process shouldn't be broadcast live."

"The government is inclined to distort the facts, in this way the people will not have the opportunity to see the truth. I am not asking for this issue for myself because of the functions I have had, but I am asking for it for all the defendants," said Meta.

Meanwhile, his lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, stated that he had also made his request for live broadcast to embassies and the Helsinki Committee.

"I have a preliminary request, I made a request to you a week ago regarding the glass cage. I made it to the embassies, the Albanian Helsinki Committee, meanwhile I did not make it to the Ombudsman because it is useless. You use the European Convention when you need it," said Cakrani.
