Attacks on Iran/ Rama warns the US: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard should be declared a terrorist organization
Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, while calling for the declaration of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, emphasizing that the time has come for concrete actions and not just political statements.
In a reaction to "X", the head of the Albanian government stated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps should be officially treated as a terrorist organization, not only through sanctions against the Tehran regime, but by including it on the international list of terrorist organizations, as the United States of America and Canada have already done.
Rama emphasized that Albania's position is not only related to support for Israel and Arab countries seeking peace, or to the positions of strategic allies, but above all to the need for action at a moment when, according to him, "acts are required and not just words."
The Prime Minister underlined that Albania has directly experienced the Iranian regime's aggression through cyberattacks against Albanian state institutions.
"Albania will act in accordance with this position. We will call the Revolutionary Guard what it is and include it on the list of terrorist organizations," Rama declared, calling on European Union countries to follow the same line.
"Terrorism must be named. And once it is named, it must be stopped," he concludes.
Edi Rama: The time has come to cut through any hesitation and get straight to the point.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a terrorist organization and must be treated as such. Not only through sanctions against the Khomeini Republic, but by officially calling it by its real name and including it on the list of terrorist organizations, as the United States of America and Canada have already done.
Not only because we stand steadfastly by the side of Israel and the brotherly Arab countries that seek peace.
Not only because we support the United States in its military support for Israel today, under the leadership of President Donald Trump.
Not only because the European Union, through President Ursula von der Leyen, has underlined today the murderous nature of the Tehran regime.
But above all, on a day like this, when actions and not just words are required, to honor the endless innocent victims of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Albania has directly experienced the barbaric face of the Tehran regime through cyber aggression against our country. For us, this is not abstract geopolitics. It is national security, moral and legal clarity.
Albania will act in accordance with this position. We will call the Revolutionary Guard what it is and include it on the list of terrorist organizations, and we call on our European friends to do the same.
We fully support any decisive effort to prevent once and for all the murderers in Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons or any other military capability to harm Israel or any other peace-loving nation in the Middle East.
Terrorism must be named. And once it is named, it must be stopped.
