27-year-old Albanian arrested in France with 20 kg of heroin in car

A 27-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by French authorities after around 20 kilograms of heroin were found in the vehicle he was traveling in.

According to French media, the stop was carried out during an anti-drug operation on the A31 motorway, near the Canfen exit, on Sunday, February 23. During the search of the vehicle, law enforcement discovered the quantity of narcotics.

The young man was initially escorted to the gendarmerie premises in Thionville and then placed in custody. His identity has not yet been made public.

The 27-year-old is expected to appear before the Thionville Criminal Court on March 30, where he will face charges of drug trafficking.
