After the Basic Court in Pristina announced the verdict in the murder case of Liridona Ademaj, her brother, Leonard Ademaj, reacted, saying that the decision confirms the family's position from the beginning. He said that justice has finally been served for his sister and her children. "Today, what we said from the beginning was confirmed, that Naim Murseli together with Kushtrim Kokalla, choosing Granit Plava as the killer, carried out this crime," he declared.
Ademaj stressed that the decision carries a great emotional weight not only for the family, but for the entire society. “This decision is not only for us, but for Liridona and her children, who will never see their mother again,” he said. He added that the verdict should serve as a strong message to anyone who thinks of committing such crimes. “This decision should be a lesson to all those who attempt or create the conditions for such a crime,” Ademaj said.
According to him, the decision has brought partial relief to the family, although the pain remains. “It has eased our pain as a family a little. It is a decision that the entire Albanian people have been waiting for,” he concluded. Earlier, the court sentenced Naim Murseli and Granit Plava to life imprisonment, while Kushtrim Kokalla was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
