She said that the works will resume at 11:00 PM, one hour before the constitutional deadline for electing a new head of state expires.

If MPs fail to elect a new president, Kosovo will go to elections.

In Monday's session, attended only by the majority MPs, the two presidential candidates proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement were voted on: Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha. Rushiti received 63 votes in the first round, while Hoxha received none. Another vote was invalid.

Opposition and civil society representatives said that the president's vote without the necessary quorum violates the constitutional order.
