LDK proposes Vjosa Osmani for president, collects 15 signatures in the Assembly

The Democratic Movement of Kosovo has collected 15 signatures from MPs to show their support for Vjosa Osmani as the new president of Kosovo.
LDK has reacted harshly to developments in the Kosovo Assembly during the session for the election of the President, accusing the Vetëvendosje Movement of serious constitutional violations.
In a media statement, LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku stated that the start of voting without a quorum constitutes an overthrow of the constitutional order and a direct violation of the state.
"Tonight, in the session called for the Election of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, the Vetëvendosje Movement initiated the overthrow of the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo," the reaction states.
According to the LDK, proceeding with the vote without the necessary number of deputies is a sabotage of the Constitution.
"Starting the voting process without a constitutional quorum constitutes direct sabotage of the Constitution and the state itself," he said.
