The ideal identity of a figure within the DP who should become mayor is someone who annoys Berisha as a loyalist, but who needs to get rid of his protagonism. Deep down, he is not looking for someone to become mayor, but someone who will no longer be confused by his footsteps. More or less like Këlliçi was last time, who after making him a candidate, told everyone "it was a mistake that we did it", to follow him.
This is why this debate over Ermal Hasimen is meaningless. The new candidate will come from the circle of people within the DP who do not risk disrupting the status quo.
An ideal candidate is, for example, Andi Mustafaj, the son of Besnik Mustafaj. He meets all the conditions. He is young, well-educated, ambitious, dissatisfied, annoying, because he will not leave the DP, but will stick around and always be in line waiting for something. Or similar to him. Although in other circumstances his identity would be valuable, Berisha does not need him for what he has, but to get rid of him "by promotion" as a candidate.
If not him, someone like him.
Candidacies like Hasime's are out of his interest. Çepani no, no, and he is not to blame for that. Apart from the fact that she is Gert Bogdani's wife, the rest of her political history is linked to an ultra-left family legacy. Only if he proposes her as a joint candidate with Ilir Meta. All of these are a throwback to the 2005 KOP characters, without Luli, and they are no longer new or unknown to Berisha. They are simply bored by him.
This is why Ermal Hasimja, if he is going to impose himself as a candidate, should register as a candidate without asking the DP and impose himself on it. The fact that he has a positive impact on the DP membership could put Berisha and the DP in a difficult position if he registers as a candidate, whether for Shehaj's party or as an independent, and asks the DP to support him, thereby incurring debt. This is the only way for him to form his profile, test his votes and be an imposing figure in the future for the DP and its leadership.
These negotiations between Flamur and Agron to convince him of Hasima only insult and diminish him as a candidate. That it is better to be rejected by the majority of Tirana and show how many votes you have, than to be rejected by Flamur.
Beyond that, the positive impact that his name has is more related to the hunger that exists in the DP for openings and new names, but that is no longer a concern of the DP leadership. The DP has only one concern: to maintain the stability of power in the opposition and not to have a headache from people who want to change the situation and be critical of Berisha or independent of him.
So stop whining about Ermal Hasime. Either run him and force the DP to support him, or leave him alone.
