The difference between the March 6 by-elections and the ones expected

The partial local elections of March 6, 2022 are similar in the number of municipalities to those expected. Even then, there were 6 municipalities, including two large ones – Durrës and Shkodra. Now there are also 6 municipalities, among which Tirana and Vlora increase the political weight of the elections.
If you look at it from the electoral test point of view, the expected elections represent almost 40 percent of the electorate, as Tirana, Burreli, Berat, Vlora, Cerrik and Tepelena entered the race. So, if we were in a normal political situation, the opposition would have its wish to be retested from an electoral point of view after the heavy defeat of May 11.
But it seems that the opposition is very upset that it will enter the elections. The reason is the opposite of the elections of March 6, 2022. Even in those elections, the opposition lost heavily by a score of 5 to 1, but declared them a victory, after defeating a bigger and more dangerous enemy than the government: Sali Berisha's enemy in the DP, Lulzim Basha.
The race that Ilir Meta suddenly decreed after three years of vacancy was done to test Berisha's "legitimacy" at the head of the DP and not to win municipalities. This was precisely the only energy of that campaign. The entire battle was fought between Basha's and Berisha's candidates, and after those elections many other deputies broke away from Basha and went to Berisha.
Those elections, although heavily lost in the face of power, were among the most enthusiastic that the DP has experienced, because they legitimized Berisha's formal return to the party leadership.
While the current elections that are expected to be decreed have disappointed the DP and have created a kind of inconvenience for the opposite reason of March 6. There are no more enemies of Berisha in the DP and these elections are not needed for anything. It is clear that they cannot defeat the government, in the DP they are even worried about the names that will compete, as they are afraid that they will turn into new protagonists and spoil their blood in the future.
Now that everyone has taken their share within the opposition government, these elections are an inconvenience that would be better avoided. In fact, this is the only reason that can convince them to boycott. The only thing holding them back is the fact that if they leave the field empty, new actors from other parties will grow artificially and will endanger their future as a party.
For all these reasons, these elections are completely opposite to March 6, 2022. If then they were motivated by the desire to legitimize Berisha, now they are demotivated by the desire to delegitimize him as a leader that leads them to defeat. They do not want to hear this constantly in elections. Once every four years is enough to hear him as a loser. Twice a year is too much. That is why they are upset.
