Oil prices fell in Asian markets on Tuesday as investors awaited new developments on possible peace talks between the United States and Iran.
Brent crude, a key global benchmark, fell 1.6% to $93.97 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 1.5% to $86.15 a barrel.
Uncertainty over the conduct of a second round of talks between the two countries, expected to be held in Pakistan, is directly affecting the markets. So far, there has been no official confirmation from the parties whether the negotiations will continue.
Traders and investors remain awaiting clear signals, while any development in this direction is expected to have an immediate impact on energy prices.
