The farmers of the village of Mbreshtan, in Berat, known for fruit growing, are dissatisfied with the olive production at the end of this season.
The drought that affected this area during the olive blossoming period, the lack of labor or the poor quality of pesticides were some of the problems that the farmers of this area faced during this season, leaving them and the owners of the factories unsatisfied. of olive oil according to which this year had 40 to 50% less production than last year
"It has not been a very good season, but I can count it 50 to 50 for myself, mostly farmers have the problem of fertilizers and pesticides that do not come insured and not controlled, you spray the olives yourself, it does not give the effect of you take from them, but you don't give the effect as much and as you should", says Feçor Zema, administrator of the oil factory.
"The problems for agriculture are many, but those of nature are good, and these are so that we cannot interfere with pesticides, they are difficult, we cannot follow them, it does not have the right effect", says Vangjel Ngjelo, farmer.
The lack of manpower has forced farmers to rely on their family members to produce on time.
