Injured in Israeli attacks, Mojtaba Khamenei undergoes three leg surgeries.

Iranian sources, quoted by The New York Times, report that Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, considered the new leading figure in Iran, is facing serious health conditions after injuries sustained in a previous attack.

According to reports, Khamenei has suffered severe burns and has undergone three surgeries on his leg, and is expected to receive a prosthesis.

He is also said to have difficulty speaking as a result of his injuries, avoiding public appearances and video communications, but remains mentally clear.

The report adds that he was injured in the attack on February 28, the day the war began, in which his father, wife, and son were killed.

Currently, he is under strict medical care and high security, surrounded mainly by a team of doctors and health personnel including the Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, a heart surgeon by profession.

Otherwise, Islamic Revolutionary Guard commanders and senior government officials are avoiding his visits in person for fear that Israel could track their movements and eliminate the leader.
