Opposition leader and Democratic Party chairman, Sali Berisha, has expressed his condolences on the passing of academic Rexhep Qosja.
In his reaction on Facebook, Berisha praised Qose's figure and contribution as one of the most important voices of Albanian national thought and cause.

Dear friends, the sun has set forever for academician Rexhep Qosja.
Albanian culture, literary, social and political thought, Albanian polemics and letters lost a luminary, author of a series of works in these fields.
Despite the opposition, disagreements and different assessments that I have had with Prof. Rexhep Qosen, I have maintained and will always maintain my respect and gratitude towards him, especially for the time when he was the only powerful public voice of the voiceless and oppressed Albanians of Kosovo by the Serbian occupier and later for the unwavering support he gave to the KLA but also his critical stances towards developments in Kosovo and Albania. On this occasion, I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, relatives and authorities of Kosovo. May the light soil of the motherland rest in peace.
