Trump shows his muscles: Why I moved nuclear submarines near Russia, only force forces Putin...
President Donald Trump is speaking in Quantico, Virginia, delivering a speech ahead of his meeting with America's top military leaders, along with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
According to foreign media, he has reiterated his previous desire to ensure that Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin sit down for a meeting.
"But the only way we can do this is through force, if we were weak, they wouldn't even answer my phone," Trump said.
Russia has so far resisted meeting with the Ukrainian leader, offering to hold the summit in Moscow, where Zelenskyy refuses to go.
In his speech, Trump also raised the issue of the power of American nuclear submarines, saying they are 25 years ahead of Moscow's.
"I moved a submarine or two, towards the coast of Russia, just to be careful, because we can't let people use the [nuclear] word. I call it the N-word. There are two N-words and you can't use either one of them," Trump says.
"It's something we don't even want to mention," he added.
Speaking to military leaders, Trump repeats frequently heard phrases, including:
He thought that ending the war in Ukraine would be easier, and it turned out not to be the case;
Putin would never have invaded the country if he had been in office.
