US warns Iranian civilians to immediately avoid ports along the Strait of Hormuz

Iran's navy has positioned ships inside civilian ports along the Strait of Hormuz and civilians should "immediately avoid" the area as they become "legitimate targets", US Central Command has warned.
Centcom says Iran is using the ports "to conduct military operations that threaten international maritime transportation."
"This dangerous action endangers the lives of innocent people. Civilian ports used for military purposes lose their protected status and become legitimate military targets under international law," she said.
He called on Iranian civilians to "immediately avoid all port facilities where Iranian naval forces operate," adding: "Iranian port workers, administrative personnel, and merchant ship crews should avoid Iranian naval vessels and military equipment."
The US military "cannot guarantee civilian safety" but will take "every possible precaution" to minimize damage, Centcom said.
Centcom announced last night that the US has struck 16 Iranian ships "laying mines" near the Strait of Hormuz and released this video.
