The application process for the position of General Director of the State Police has just been completed, following the removal of Ilir Proda from office.

Media sources indicate that so far 14 candidates have been identified who have competed for this position, whose names are listed as follows:

After the applications are completed, the Ministry of Interior will publish the names of the candidates on the official website, where within 10 days, a Special Commission composed of 3 people, chaired by a Deputy Minister of Interior, and 2 members, the Secretary General of this department and the head of the Police Supervision Agency, will conduct a preliminary assessment to verify the legal conditions.

The name is then proposed to the Minister of Interior, who then delegates it to the Prime Minister for approval.
