Russian diplomat warns: EU's use of frozen Russian assets will have serious

Using frozen Russian assets in Europe to provide financing for Kiev would have "very serious consequences" for the European Union, the Russian ambassador to Germany has warned.

His statement comes after the German Chancellor and the Belgian Prime Minister stated the possibility of using frozen Russian assets in Europe.

"Any action that uses Russian state funds without Russia's consent would be theft. And it is clear that theft of Russian state funds will have very serious consequences," said Russia's ambassador to Berlin, Sergei Nechayev.

For the Russian diplomat, the EU's reputation in the business world risks being "destroyed," with European governments facing "endless lawsuits."
