The White House warns: Europe risks disappearing! Transatlantic tensions reach critical point

A new National Security Strategy from President Donald Trump's administration has sent shockwaves through European capitals. The 33-page document, signed by Trump, contains a stark warning: Europe risks disappearing unless it radically changes its culture and policies.

Washington's direct message comes at a particularly sensitive time for the continent. For British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the statement is seen as a continuation of the aggressive tone previously used by US Vice President JD Vance, notably in his controversial speech in Munich in February.

According to Bloomberg reports, European officials are deeply concerned that the Trump administration is considering the possibility of a direct deal with Russia regarding the war in Ukraine — a deal that, according to them, could be interpreted as a capitulation by the West.

These fears coincide with a potentially crucial phase of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, where the West is reviewing its strategies and transatlantic unity is being called into question.

The White House's new tone has caused confusion and distrust among key allies in Europe.
