A child with an Albanian father and a British mother was fatally attacked by a dog in the backyard while playing.
The tragic event occurred in Agios Leontas, on the island of Zakynthos, Greece.
"Protothema" reports that an 18-month-old child was fatally attacked by a pit bull.
According to information, the two-year-old child was in his yard when he approached the family dog, which, for an unknown reason, attacked him with great ferocity, causing serious injuries.
Shortly after 1:00 PM, the terrified parents called emergency services, the child was taken to the hospital, but it was too late, as he was pronounced dead there.
The 18-month-old child's father is of Albanian origin, while his mother is British and both have lived on the island of Zakynthos for years.
The local community is shocked by the incident and the relevant authorities have already been mobilized to investigate the circumstances of the attack. The parents are being held by the authorities.
