"Unacceptable to see healthy generals and admirals", Hegseth: There

The US president will attend a meeting later today with hundreds of US generals and admirals serving in various regions of the world, which will take place after a very unusual invitation at a military base near Washington.

At this unprecedented meeting of military leaders, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth attacked what he called "decades of decline" caused by policies promoting diversity and inclusion in the US military.

“Imbecile and reckless political leaders set the wrong course and we lost our way. We became the ‘Smart Ministry,’” Hegseth said at the opening of the event in Quantico, Virginia. “But not anymore,” he added.

The auditorium was filled with uniformed senior officials, seated in front of a stage with a large American flag, a lectern, and banners reading: "Strength Serves America."

Hegseth criticized the appearance of overweight soldiers, saying: "It is completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the corridors of the Pentagon."

He said all fitness tests would be based on male criteria only and stressed the importance of hygiene standards.

"The era of the unprofessional look is over. Enough with the beards," Heggeth told the audience, which remained silent.

"If the words I say today disappoint you, then you should do the honorable thing and resign," the Minister of Defense added.
