Donald Trump allows foreign ships for energy supplies, 60-day measures to lower prices

The administration of US President Donald Trump announced a 60-day exemption from the Jones Act's shipping regulations.
The aim is to facilitate the supply of fuels and fertilizers, while coping with rising prices and problems in supply chains caused by the conflict with Iran.
According to the White House, the measure will enable the unhindered transport of vital resources such as oil, natural gas, fertilizers and coal to American ports during these 60 days.
Gasoline prices have risen since the launch of US and Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, particularly affecting the functioning of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied gas supply passes.
The temporary exemption allows foreign ships to transport between U.S. ports, speeding up deliveries and potentially reducing costs.
However, analysts estimate that the impact on fuel prices for consumers will remain limited.
This measure comes at a time when the US administration is facing pressure to keep fuel prices affordable for citizens.
