Benjamin Netanyahu appears at a hospital near Jerusalem, his office clarifies health situation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared this evening at Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem, near Jerusalem, while his office explained that the purpose of the visit was to receive dental services.

The clarifying statement from the prime minister's office was released after Israeli media reported that Netanyahu had been taken to the hospital.

The health of 76-year-old Netanyahu has been under the scrutiny of Israeli media over the past month, when he announced that he had successfully undergone radiation therapy to treat early-stage prostate cancer, without specifying the exact timing of the treatment.

The Israeli prime minister has said he delayed the release of the medical report for two months in order to prevent Iran from spreading "propaganda against Israel" in a time of war.

In July 2023, Benjamin Netanyahu underwent an operation to implant a pacemaker, while in 2024 he also underwent prostate surgery.
