Isuf Jaçaj's TNT murder/Saranda under 'state of siege':

RENEA special forces and a group of the FNSH have landed in the city of Saranda and the areas surrounding the Konispol Municipality, where detailed checks are being conducted to identify the perpetrators of the murder of 58-year-old Isuf Jaçaj.

According to sources close to the investigative group, the main line of investigation is related to revenge, as the victim's son, Klaus Jaçaj (31 years old), is suspected of having helped the perpetrator of the injury of two people in the July 17 incident in Saranda.

Klaus Jaçaj turned himself in at the Saranda Police Station on July 23, just two days after a masked man blew up a BMW parked near his apartment. For this incident, which is still unsolved, he was charged with "supporting the perpetrator of the crime" and "failing to report a crime", while the court ordered him to be held in prison.

The revenge saga began on July 17, when in neighborhood no. 4 of Saranda, Ramadan Zoto (alias Ramadan Canaj, 43 years old) shot and wounded Gëzim Hajdaraj (33 years old) and Ernest Lama (25 years old), both from Kamza. The injured are people with criminal records in Saranda, while one of them, Hajdaraj, was arrested in hospital after a pistol was found on him.

The perpetrator of the attack, Ramadan Zoto, a former convict in Greece for serious crimes, including murder, was captured armed in Korça on August 22, after several weeks on the run. Two of his accomplices had previously surrendered.

According to explosives experts, in last night's murder of Isuf Jaçaj, it is suspected that around 800 grams of explosives were used, placed under the Toyota vehicle and activated by remote control.

Police are facing difficulties in fully documenting the event, as there are no security cameras in the area where the explosion occurred. Investigations are continuing with intensity, while several checkpoints have been set up in Saranda and surrounding areas and roads entering and leaving the city have been blocked.
