Extradited from Spain, GJKKO leaves Erzen Breçani's son in prison

The Criminal Court of Kosovo has remanded Eralbi Breçani, the son of former police officer Erzen Breçani, in custody.

Wanted since November 2023 as part of a criminal group trafficking cocaine from Latin America to Europe, Eralbi Breçani, son of the former deputy director of Tirana Police, Erzen Breçani, surrendered to Spain on April 2 of this year and was extradited to our country two days ago.

According to SPAK, as part of the structured criminal group that included Ergys Dashi and Ervin Mata, he is suspected of financing and ordering large quantities of cocaine from overseas.

He is credited with the 446 kg of cocaine seized in the Netherlands in December 2021, revealed through "SkyECC" communications, along with collaborators Ismail Zeneli and Besmir Murtati.

The entire criminal activity of cocaine trafficking coming from Latin America to European Union countries by Eralbi Breçani was suspected of being laundered within the country by his father, former deputy director of Tirana Police, Erzen Breçani.

Through active illegal actions, he administered and circulated the proceeds from drug dealing of his son, Eralbi Breçani, with the aim of covering up their true origin. Father and son had a common goal, preventing the identification of the origin of the proceeds.

In addition to drug trafficking, the group that included the father and son used the official positions of several Albanian law enforcement agency officials to collect and distribute classified information, which helped its members evade justice and continue their criminal activity.
