Long lines in Kapshtica, citizens wait over 2 hours to cross the border

At the Kapshtica border crossing, due to delays on the Greek side in crossing procedures, a long queue of vehicles has formed.

The border crossing between Albania and Greece is one of the busiest, but such queues mainly occur during the peak tourist season in the summer.

The Albanian side carries out the procedures normally, while the Greek side favors its citizens, leaving Albanian and foreign citizens waiting for long periods.

According to travelers, the long wait is from 1 to 2 hours due to delays on the part of the Greek side, which has been applying the new EU entry-exit system for 3 months.

Travelers specify that there have been no delays on the Albanian side, procedures there are carried out normally, the problem is on the Greek side, a situation that has been going on for a long time.

With this new system, it is impossible to apply fast-track procedures for Albanians and foreigners, but only for people with Greek documents, and as a result delays are caused.
