12 days after taking the reins of the General Directorate of the State Police, Skënder Hita has signed the first orders for the organization and functioning of the institution he leads.
Through a message shared on Telegram, Hita is learned to have requested that police patrols be removed from national roads and beyond.
Referring to the order distributed online, it is learned that the new police chief has received numerous complaints from citizens who have expressed concerns about routine stops carried out without a clear legal basis or the unnecessary delays that these actions cause during travel.
As a result, it has been ordered that the control of means of verification be no longer used.
But in cases where, due to the situation, it is required to ascertain violations in the presence of drivers, it is instructed to draft a clear plan of measures for checkpoints and to be headed by the heads of the sectors or sections of the traffic police.
It is learned that Hita has requested that the practice of stopping vehicles from the roads with the motivation "for verification" be immediately discontinued as of April 10.
