The State Police and RENEA forces "landed" in the early hours of this Friday morning in Mirdita, following a signal that Elson Reçi, one of the most wanted people by SPAK, may have entered Albania.
But, after a search of his apartment and several other locations, the operation was unsuccessful, as no trace of the wanted man could be found. Further, after verification, it was learned that Elson Reçi's brother had actually entered Albania.
We recall that Elson Reçi is the nephew of Kastriot Reçi who was executed by sniper fire in Rrëshen. He is accused by SPAK of providing the conditions and material means to carry out the murder of Preng Gjini. While the latter is known as their opponent, and due to the fact that a considerable amount of TNT exploded in his car, Gjini was able to survive.
On May 15, 2024, the Criminal Court of Kosovo (GJKKO) assigned Elson Reçi the security measure of "prison arrest" for the criminal offenses of "blood feud murder" remaining in the attempted stage, "providing conditions and material means to commit murder" and "unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as well as "cultivation of narcotic plants", these offenses committed in collaboration within a "structured criminal group".
