"Ready for the Bektashi state", Baba Mondi speaks to the Israeli media: We have asked the government not to waste time

The advancement of the idea of ​​creating a sovereign entity of the Bektashi Order, asserted by Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech at the UN, continues to be watched with interest by the international media.

The newspaper "The Jerusalem Post", to which Top Channel refers, published a long article interviewing the first of the Bektashites, Baba Edmond Brahimaj.

In the article entitled "Brothers of the people of Israel" Baba Mondi asks for the advancement of this idea without any delay.

The Albanian state has the right to approve the law on this matter. Then we will turn to the international community asking for recognition. We want to have a diplomatic status in the world by being known as the "World Center of Bektashi" Our community centers all over the world will be part of the "World Center". We are developing various strategies regarding the implementation of this plan. But first, the government of Albania must approve the law changing our status",  said Baba Mondi.

The Jerusalem Post says that Baba Mondi has visited Israel several times and hopes to return again.

"I know Israel well and consider myself a brother of the people of Israel. I was also there as a guest at the wedding of an Israeli friend of mine. The Bektashi community, in its way based on Islam, loves people regardless of where they come from and what faith they have or the color of their skin, including political beliefs. We consider them brothers and sisters. I visited many places in Israel from which I received positive energy. I am not talking about extremism, but about those who believe in God and live based on the principles of the holy book",  said Baba Mondi.

Baba Mondi closes this interview by quoting a verse from the Koran which says:  "Those who know themselves have known God".  These days, says the first Bektashi, many people do not know themselves.//TCH
