Action against gambling in Korça and Pogradec, 2 premises administrators arrested, 6 other people prosecuted

The Korça police have conducted an operation against gambling. According to the police, 5 premises in Korça and Pogradec were discovered which were used for the illegal organization of gambling.
Two local administrators were arrested in this action, in Korça and Pogradec. Six other citizens, administrators and employees of the premises, were also criminally prosecuted.
The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.

5 premises in the cities of Korça and Pogradec, used for the illegal organization of gambling, were discovered.
Two local administrators from the cities of Korça and Pogradec were arrested.
Criminal proceedings are being filed against 6 citizens, administrators and employees at the premises identified during the operation.
A citizen who was wanted 2 days ago for gambling is arrested and is being processed at large.
Gambling equipment and several phones were seized.
As a result of the control carried out, based on information obtained operationally, the services of the Korça and Pogradec Police Commissariat have discovered several premises in the cities of Korça and Pogradec, where games of chance were organized.
Following the procedural actions in this case, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
JL, 29 years old, resident of Korça, the administrator of the premises, for the criminal offenses of “Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law”, “Making premises available for gambling” and “Illegal employment”;
EM, 26 years old, resident of Pogradec, the administrator of the premises, for the criminal offenses of "Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law", "Making premises available for gambling" and "Hiding income".
During the search of the premises that these citizens managed, monitors and mobile phones with pages that were used for placing sports bets were found, as well as employees who were not registered with the competent authorities.
Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against the following citizens:
MV, 48 years old, resident of Korça, and SB, 34 years old, resident of Pogradec, for the criminal offense of "Illegal employment", after during a search of the premises that these citizens managed, 2 waiters were found to be unregistered with the competent authorities.
VT, 19 years old, and Ç. P., 42 years old, residents of Korça, for the criminal offense of “Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law”.
E. Ç., 41 years old, resident of Pogradec, after it was found that the business he managed was unregistered with the competent authorities.
DK, 43 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offense of "False declaration before Judicial Police officers".
During the checks, citizen ND, 35 years old, resident of Korça, who was declared wanted 2 days ago, was also arrested after he had threatened an 18-year-old over the phone, for an amount of lek that he owed him, for placing sports bets that the 35-year-old had made.
The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
