2026 World Cup/ Mohamed Salah leads Egypt's squad list

Mohamed Salah leads the final list of players selected for Egypt's World Cup squad for this summer's tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Coach Hossam Hassan released the list, which appears to contain few major surprises, with the exception of the inclusion of 18-year-old forward Hamza Abdel Karim.

The attacking department is also expected to be led by Manchester City's Omar Marmoush, who has scored 36 goals for his club this season. Egypt will begin their World Cup campaign against Belgium on June 15 in Seattle, a match that will be valid for Group G, which also includes New Zealand and Iran. On June 6, Egypt will play its final friendly match against Brazil in Ohio.

Defenders: ⁠Mohamed Abdelmonem (Nice), Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim (Al Ahly), Hossam Abdelmaguid, Ahmed Fattouh (Zamalek), Tarek Alaa (ZED), Rami Rabia (Al Ain), Hamdi Fathi (Al Wakrah), Karim Hafez (Pyramids).

Midfielders: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Marëan Attia, Ahmed Mostafa "Zizo", Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet", Emam Ashour (Al Ahly), Mostafa Abdel Raouf, Mohannad Lasheen (Pyramids), Haitham Hassan (Real Oviedo), Mahmoud Saber (ZED), Ibrahim Adel (Nordsjælland), Nabil Emad (Al-Najma). 

Forwards: Omar Marmoush (Manchester City), Hamza Abdel ⁠Karim.
