$16 million in damages? Bad Bunny accused of using a woman's voice without permission

Bad Bunny's career is once again at the center of controversy, this time away from the stage and the music charts. A Puerto Rican woman has filed a lawsuit against the artist for the unauthorized use of her voice in two of his songs, seeking $16 million in damages.
According to the lawsuit, the voice belongs to a phrase recorded in 2018, when the woman agreed to record it at the request of producer Roberto Rosalido, a regular collaborator of Bad Bunny since the beginning of his career. The two met in a course when they were students and, in that context, the recording was made. The plaintiff claims that she was never informed that the audio would be used commercially or that it would end up being part of songs published and distributed on a large scale.
The audio fragment was first included in the song 'Solo de mi', one of the artist's most popular songs on his album 'X100pre', released in 2018. Years later, the same audio reappeared in 'EeO', a song released on his latest album 'Debi tirar mas fotos', released in 2025. Both songs have accumulated millions of listens on digital platforms, a key factor in explaining the economic figure claimed by the plaintiff.
The woman claims that there was no contract authorizing the use of her voice, nor was any compensation negotiated for its use for musical, promotional or advertising purposes. In her view, this is a violation of her rights, exacerbated by the massive success of the songs in which her recording appears.
At the moment, Bad Bunny has not made any public statement on the matter. His silence coincides with a moment of special media attention due to his upcoming tour.
