Albania needs more representatives who put principles above the political interest of the moment and the citizen above the party.

We need more MPs like Marjana Koçeku.

Although I do not share the same political beliefs as her, I appreciate her courage to put principles above party interest and to listen to what citizens are asking for.

One of the most important qualities of a politician is the ability to listen. Not only when citizens applaud you, but also when they ask you to reflect, correct your course, or take a stance that may not be to your party's liking.

Marjana Koçek's decision is valuable because it reminds us of a truth that Albanian politics has long forgotten: the mandate of an MP is not the property of the party. It is a trust given by the citizens.

Therefore, the question remains: is there even one MP in the Democratic Party today who will put the citizen above the leader and principles above interest for the next mandate?
