Pedagogue Ermal Hasimja, the organizer of the opposition unity roundtable, who himself has participated in opposition protests, even giving speeches to the rallyists, has declared that he is against Molotov cocktails.
In a reaction on social media, Hasimja says that Molotov cocktails at protests guarantee international headlines, but risk alienating non-partisan citizens. However, the negotiator for the unification of opposition parties adds that this path remains for the opposition, which is prevented from speaking in the Assembly or in parliamentary investigative committees.
"I am against Molotov cocktails at protests: they may guarantee photos and international headlines, but they risk alienating the non-partisan citizen. But things need to be put in context and told in full.
First, I see no intent to harm people or property by the protesters.
Secondly, when you deny the opposition the opportunity to speak in Parliament, or the opportunity for parliamentary investigative committees, when you use administration and crime in elections, when you obstruct justice and aim to change relevant laws... what do you expect to happen? For the opposition to organize a prayer session in the square?
Of course, the opposition also has a lot to do. Some good steps were made with the first roundtable attended by 10 opposition parties and in the next 6-12 months we are convinced that we will have the full cooperation of all parties in the roundtable organized by the Political Dialogue Forum. In the internal elections of April 2026, the DP, as the largest party, has the opportunity to provide evidence of its positive change in accordance with the needs of the situation "- writes Hasimja.
