Petition breaks record, Rama does not back down: Zvërnec project does not

In an interview given by his office to the international news agency Reuters , Edi Rama appeared firm and unwavering regarding Jared Kushner's multi-billion dollar project in Sazan and Zvërnec, sending a clear message to all opponents of this investment.

"There is no chance that investment will stop as long as I am here. We cannot allow our country to take on the stigma of a place where foreign investors are greeted with hostility."

Activists and citizens who have been protesting for several days accuse him of destroying the protected ecosystem in Nartë, but, for the head of government, this reaction is simply the result of misinformation.

"People are being manipulated by wild disinformation campaigns on social media. This project is an extraordinary opportunity to turn Albania into an elite tourism destination and create thousands of jobs."

Rama insists that economic development and environmental protection can coexist, citing similar investments in other Mediterranean countries as an example.

"It's not about destroying nature, but about managing it responsibly. We are bringing a model that will increase Albania's value in the international arena."

Despite the prime minister's determination, the battle remains open. While tensions are rising on the ground, the matter has also reached SPAK, where the legal changes that paved the way for the project of Donald Trump's son-in-law are being verified.
