"Meta" file/ GJKKO accepts the lawyers' request, shortened trial for Monika Kryemadhi's mother, Ema Çoku and Pirro Xhixho

This Monday, the next hearing for the "Meta" file was held at the GJKKO, where the defendants are former president Ilir Meta, his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi, her mother Fatime Kryemadhi, as well as Ema Çoku and Pirro Xhixho.

In this session, the Court accepted the request for a summary trial for the other three defendants: Monika Kryemadhi's mother, Fatime Kryemadhi, Ema Çoku, her friend, accused of money laundering, as well as the former head of AKEP, Pirro Xhixho, accused of corruption.

We recall that the Special Court decided on March 18 to pass on to trial the file in charge of Ilir Meta, his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi, the latter's mother Fatime Kryemadhi, Pirro Xhixho and Ema Çoku.

Ilir Meta has been in custody since October 2024. The former president is being investigated for three issues: the CEZ-DIA affair, LSI lobbying in the US, and the property investigation. Currently, SPAK has closed the investigations and his file has been sent for trial.

Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi are accused of passive corruption, money laundering and failure to declare assets.
