He declared that Balluk's suspension had blocked flights, but Rama himself

Prime Minister Edi Rama, also Minister Diell, has made a sublime sacrifice for Albanian citizens.

He personally signed the Agreement in Principle with Canada on Air Transport.

But why is this decision so special? A few days ago, the head of government complained that the Special Court's decision to suspend Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, had badly blocked the government's work.

And, one of the greatest damages that the GJKKO decision brought was precisely the blocking of the agreement with Canada.

"The suspended minister not only cannot sign anything himself, but he also prevents anyone else from making a decision and signing it. Therefore, it is absurd as a concept because it blocks the entire decision-making chain for the sectors that the minister covers, and among the things that are blocked is the agreement with Canada on air flights," he declared in a communication on social networks, during the campaign to convince the Constitutional Court to reinstate his deputy.

Rama's argument was completely ridiculous, yet sufficient to provide raw material for his analysts to multiply this justification in the media studios.

For many hours, megaphones blared in the ears of citizens, to show that the Special Court's decision ruined a lot of our work with Canada and that Balluk's suspension left the planes in the air.

But, as was the most normal and logical thing, the solution was very simple and very easy.

On Friday of this week (December 12, 2025), Prime Minister Rama himself signed the Decision on the approval, in principle, of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of Canada, on air transport.

This decision was adopted just a few hours before the Constitutional Court decided to suspend the GJKKO decision, reinstating Belinda Balluku.

The Constitutional Court, in its decision to reinstate Balluk, argued that her suspension from office risks bringing consequences that affect state interests during the exercise of the constitutional powers of the executive branch in determining general state policies...

But here's the argument of the Constitutional Court - Rama himself took off for Canada, without waiting for Belinda Balluku's return to office./ BoldNews
