Google blocked 8.3 billion fraudulent ads in 2025
In 2025, Google blocked or removed 8.3 billion ads and suspended 24.9 million accounts, including 602 million ads and 4.1 million accounts linked to fraud.
These findings are included in the “Annual Ad Safety Report 2025,” which highlights how Gemini-based tools have significantly improved our ability to detect and block malicious ads, protecting people before a scam reaches them.
According to the analysis, the tech giant's systems caught over 99% of ads that violated policies before they even appeared.
"Unlike previous keyword-based systems, the newer models better understand people's intent, helping us identify and block harmful content, which helped the respective teams act on four times more user reports in 2025 compared to last year," Google said.
By analyzing beyond images and text patterns, Google concludes that “Gemini is better able to distinguish between a credible offer and sophisticated bait, a level of accuracy that helped us reduce erroneous advertiser suspensions by 80% last year.”
"This precision allows us to focus on two things at once, prioritizing the removal of harmful content and helping honest businesses keep their ads running," the company emphasized.
