Vetëvendosje proposed two names for the new President of Kosovo, today is the deadline. What is expected to happen in Parliament?

The session to elect the new president in the Kosovo Assembly is expected to resume today at 10:00, after being interrupted yesterday evening without a conclusion.

Last night, the Vetëvendosje Movement proposed two candidates for the post of president; Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha. 64 MPs participated in the first round of voting, with Rushiti securing 63 votes, while one vote was declared invalid. The process took place without the presence of opposition parties, who boycotted the session.

This Tuesday also constitutes the constitutional deadline for electing the president, making the continuation of the session crucial for concluding this political process.
