US President Donald Trump has said that the ceasefire with Iran will be extended "until such time as their proposal is presented and the discussions are concluded, one way or another."

Two sources familiar with the internal discussions have told CNN that Trump plans to give Iran a limited timeframe to come up with a unified proposal.

His administration does not want to extend the ceasefire indefinitely, the sources said, and is cautious about giving Iran time to continue talks.

The sources added that the president himself was wary of extending the ceasefire beyond today's deadline.
