Iran reacted for the first time after the coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel, announcing that its armed forces are "fully prepared" to defend the country and make the aggressors regret their actions.
In an official statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli attacks this morning targeted "the country's territorial integrity and national sovereignty, including defensive infrastructure and civilian sites in various cities."
"The renewed military aggression of the US and the Zionist regime against Iran is a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The Islamic Republic of Iran considers this aggression a clear violation of international peace and security and reserves the right to respond decisively," the statement said.
The ministry stressed that the Iranian people have shown patience and restraint to maintain regional stability, while the armed forces are ready to defend the country. The US and Israeli attacks were described as a “clear example of armed aggression,” invoking Article 51 of the United Nations Charter to justify Iran’s right to self-defense.
"History shows that Iranians have never succumbed to aggression. This time, Iran's response will be decisive and the aggressors will regret their hostile actions," the statement concluded.
